On Sunday, April 30, at the Father Duenas Memorial School Phoenix Center, Guam will feature a world-class tournament of elite competitors for the premier and longest running Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) tournament in the Pacific — the Marianas Open MMXVII.

“This is the premier event because it is the kind of tournament that has attracted world renown competitors, like Felipe Pena, and no other has produced this much money in the Pacific,” said Steve Shimizu, owner of the Marianas Open, “Now, people come to us — we don’t look for athletes like before. It’s getting bigger and bigger, and we’re putting Guam on the map.”
